Debbie’s story

Debbie Gillespie splits her days between guiding anglers along Western North Carolina’s rivers and shaping clay in her forest-side studio. Her love of pottery began by accident in college, when a work-study position placed her in the ceramics studio-and the clay never left her hands.

Now, Debbie's pieces echo the quiet beauty of Pisgah Forest. Leaves, feathers, fur, and flowing water find their way into her designs, each piece crafted slowly and thoughtfully by hand. Her pottery carries the spirit of the mountains, made with love for the wild things that inspire her.
